The Conrad Hilton Hotel
Luxury never looked so glamorous!
It's not every day that you're invited to spend the opening night at a brand new hotel and the unveiling of the new Hilton Conrad Hotel, right by the seaside and the new exhibition center, was without the shadow of a doubt, the main event of the week-end. The numbers speak for themselves: 2 main towers, 100,000 m2 total surface, 800 employees (still recruiting), almost 600 rooms (all fully equipped, including an IPod docking station), a stunning 1,688 m2 ball room.
Focus on Dalian captured the essence of the place in one word --"Wow"-- during the opening ceremony on March 9th, 2012. The formal program featured a speech given by the dynamic General Manager Vlad Reyes, plus an introduction of his staff, a brief presentation of the complex followed by a tour inside the gigantic construction.
Amongst the many surprises of that night, we discovered a 250 m2 covered pool (there is actually a pool in each tower), a fitness center, 5 bars, and a top floor lounge with perhaps the best sight-seeing in the city!
That is not mentioning the wonderful hostesses posing in cages and the bikini girls providing us with fine cocktails.
The lobby of the hotel is simply stunning. It features an impressive painting estimated at 28 million RMB! Adding to the luxury of the place, Director of Food and Beverages, Cedric Besler, told me the dishes are a fine Christofle set imported from France. A rare treat indeed. That is without mentioning they also have a French Chef, Philippe Egalon, supervising upon delicious and various meals, from East to West.
I sincerely wish General Manager Vlad Reyes and his crew a well deserved success! To maintain such a high standard of quality is unarguably the mark of the greatest. I definitely look forward to the next event at Hilton Conrad Hotel.
